Bead shops in Sweden and the bead shop map is your guide to bead shopping in Sweden, focusing on brick-and-mortar shops throughout the country. Please note that the map hasn't been updated for a couple of years and while many shops are still open, some have closed, others have moved and a few new ones have opened. For a current report on open bead shops in the area you are interested in, consider contacting a swedish forum or FB group.

Guide to the website
The bead shop map can be found on the page Pärlbutikskartan.  In the future, you will hopefully also find an alphabetic list of online bead shops under Nätbutiker, but at the moment you can find links to bead shop list on the page. Other brick-and-mortar shops of interest are found under Övriga butiker. There you'll mostly find shops offering tools, storage solutions or magazines. Of cause, you can also find bead shops in craft fairs and artisan shows, something you can read about under Mässor. If you have a swedish brick-and-mortar bead shop you want to see on the map, contact us via the form on the page Tipsa om butiker.

How to use the map
The map sorts shops into three categories: bead shops (blue marker), bead shops only open for pre-arranged visits (violet marker), craft shops with beads/jewellery supplies (orchid/rose markers) and other shops of interest for beaders and jewellery makers (light red marker). To read more about a shop and find a link to its homepage, click the marker in question.
NB! Many of the bead shops listed are online shops that either welcome visitors to their brick-and-mortar shops or open their stockrooms, which can be located in private homes. Shops that have stockrooms rather than showrooms/shops are usually only open to pre-arranged visits. These shops have a violet rather than blue marker and are marked with the word (bokn.) in the title.

Please note that addresses and open hours were correct when the information was entered into map, but may have changed since. It can also take time before a newly closed shop is removed from the map. Always check the website/facebook page of the shop and/or contact the shop before visiting, especially if you're travelling far.

About the website and map
This website is created by Maneki, co-creator of the bead shop map and creator of Manekis Pärlblogg, a blog full of resources for beaders and jewellery makers.

The bead shop map was originally created by Maneki and Pugglis for the online jewellery makers' forum Smyckestillverkning iFokus. The map has later been maintained by Maneki on her own. In 2012 the map got a much needed overhaul and the website Pärlbutiker i Sverige was created as the new home for the improved map.

Contact
To get in contact, please e-mail Maneki (or send a message via the Wild roses & blackberries blog form). The wild rose blog form is in english, but you can also fill in the contact form under Tipsa om butiker here on this website if the language isn't a problem for you.
